THE WIND IN THE WILLOWS - concepts and ideas

The chosen concept for this brief is going to focus on the interior of Toad Hall. The only character used will be Mr Toad due to his well-known personality and his main role within the story. As he is a boisterous and narcissistic character, that is also extremely loveable, I am going to place him in a situation that I feel he would probably place himself in. The idea is to give Toad his own portrait within his home, that will be hung up on a printed wallpaper. The wallpaper will reference objects and situations within the book, so that the cover is cohesive and relevant. This wallpaper effect will allow me to tie together all elements of the jacket, so that they work together as a whole, which is an integral part to the brief. I will also make sure, however, that the front cover works on its own and is eye-catching within a crowded bookshop setting. This will be achieved through the use of colour, imagery and type.
