STARTING ROUGH DESIGN IDEAS

I wanted to use and create a typeface that gave me a lot of space to work with - a sort of blank canvas. This would allow me to fill this canvas with a natural pattern.
I started sketching these out before I even found the typeface I was going to use. Transuranium, which I had previously downloaded onto my mac a long time ago, was perfect for the job. I tweeked the whole layout of a few of the letters that I didn't like, but with the rest I cut out the line to create blank space. This would make the font a lot more legible when it came to placing the pattern inside.
