DESIGN PRINCIPLES, COLOUR THEORY

Everyone was given the task to collect five objects for each of the following colours, red, green, blue, orange, yellow and violet. When collecting these I assumed I was going to struggle, however it turned out that my house had a whole bunch of stuff in it that was perfect for the task set.
In groups, we were to arrange an assigned colour into an order that we think worked best.
The colour given to us was g r e e n.

In order to work out the best way to organise them, we had to see what was going on around us. To the right, there were blues, and yellows to the left. We therefore organised them with yellowy, luminous greens to the left, real dark greens in the middle then out towards bluey toned down greens.
Once fully set out, a large colour wheel had been created.

Leading on from this, what was learnt during the presentation had to be applied to our group of colour,
 which can be seen below.

A main colour was identified, then from this different tints, hues and shades were found. After this, we were given the opportunity to handle the Pantone colour guides and decipher the closest Pantone code to each of our objects.
