Using illustrator to create the envelope net/template. This is probably an extremely round-a-bout (/currently know very little about illustrator) way of going about doing this but it worked.
Use of the rectangle and cornered rectangle tool to create a net that fits to the measurements of 16cm x 11cm. The style of the envelope is purely preference. It holds a much nicer aesthetic to the usual pointed/triangle style envelope.
Applying a pattern to the template.
Here the pattern has been applied to both inner sides of the envelope. The pattern on the bottom flap had to be flipped upside down in order for it to be the right way round once put together. Hopefully the tabs inside won't affect the overall aesthetic of the pattern.
