CREATING THE SLEEVES

This series of photographs documents the production stages of our coffee cup sleeves. We originally hoped that it might have been possible to cut our sleeves out downstairs in the digital print room, this would have made things a lot neater and more professional. As we plan on giving these to cafes, we didn't want any scruffy cutting going on. However, James explained to us that the vinyl cutter would just rip the paper to shreds. This meant we had to cut each one out individually using a scalpel, leaving a small border around each one in case of mistakes. Fortunately, they came out looking neat, as we took our time on them. Originally we thought it was going to take us hours to cut out all 60, however team work meant that we managed to get it done in no time.
We created a little production line, each with individual jobs.
