STAMP IT - cover

Creating the different components for the cover

Front Image
In order to create the main image for my cover, I wanted to use an illustration from one of my stamps so that it worked as a whole product. I also wanted to incorporate some more hand drawn stuff, and therefore decided on writing on my title.
I printed out one of the illustrations at a larger scale, and used it to create a sort of banner.

I looked at filling it with colour, as well as removing the stroke. The bottom two images work best, focusing each letter more. It also matches the illustration and allows me to work with black in other areas throughout my product.
Scaled down, the image still works effectively.

Royal Mail logo

Originally, I tried to use the standard Royal Mail logo on my product, but it really just didn't fit well. The harsh contrast between the hand drawn image on the front and this image seemed to mix so strangely.
In order to create something a little bit different, I decided to hand draw the logo, scan it in and fill it with colours similar to that of the original. I wanted to make sure that it obviously still looked like the logo, otherwise I was no longer promoting the Royal Mail.
