In order to get an idea of how my website would look, I put together some digital mock-ups using my scamps and initial sketches.

Home page
The header was created using an illustration from the design development of my publication. In order to keep things looking clean and simple when text was added, the illustration was made greyscale, and a bright pink was used for the text. Although pink isn't generally seen as a unisex colour, I feel that in this case, it wouldn't frighten people off from interacting with the website. It would be viewed as quite contemporary and funky.
All digital images are kept greyscale on first visit. As each blogger has their own individual tastes and ways of presenting and taking their photographs, there would be a lot of contrast when placed onto the same page. By saturating the images, there is a clean base to work with.
On rollover, the image will then return to it's original state, allowing the user to see the visual appearance of that individual, and how they photograph and present themselves to others.
Top ten
I also looked at creating a second page mock-up. This page would feature the current top ten blogs of that particular month, offering a range of bloggers and interests that would suit the wide variety of users. A mixture of both male and female bloggers are presented in order to appeal to the whole audience.
The same concept has been carried through to the second page. All images appear greyscale, and return to their original state on rollover.
I looked into the possibility of adding text to the images on rollover, so that the user was aware of the name of the blog. Each image would then take you to that website once clicked.
