Hand drawn and scanned in harlequin patterns, a diamond shape worn by clowns in a traditional circus.
Looking at possible backgrounds and patterns that could be used within my work that are representative of my circus theme. Created by hand drawing the triangles and simply repeating them over and over on illustrator.
I wanted to keep to a pastel theme, with a hint of some traditional circus colours. I felt that the usual colours typically associated with the circus can be a little bit too garish. Colour inspiration here was mainly taken from a vintage Bertram Mills circus posters from 1951 that I discovered.
