RAIN

The posters must attract visitors to the UK by explaining that rain is attractive. We are not to be sarcastic, "After all rain can be romantic, useful or beautiful"

Ashley Goldberg

"I rode through the rain, but I’d ride through worse if I could just hear your voice telling me that I might at least have some chance to win you." Mr Knightly, Jane Austen

In order to gain some initial ideas, I decided to look at different reasons why people tend to 'love' the rain.
"It always rains in your country. Make a poster for visitors to the UK explaining why so much rain is attractive. Don't be sarcastic, after all, rain can be romantic, useful or beautiful."
I looked at general reasons as to the positive effects of rain within the UK, which included:

- soothing and relaxing
- comforting (shelter)
- makes you productive
- powerful
- respected
- water is the source of life
- symbolises cleansing
- can take many different forms
- seen as 'romantic'
- puddles (splashing)
- rainbows (pot of gold at the end of every one)
- Gene Simmons (singing in the rain)
- "save your pennies for a rainy day"
- shower with love
- freedom from allergies
- raw nature
- crisp smell
- irrigates crops and gardens
- fills cisterns
- sculpts landscapes
- washes the atmosphere
