As all of my previous illustrations weren't working, I decided to take ideas from each area of development and work out a way that I could create illustration that would work in both print and digital format. I therefore decided to create patterns that represented each recipe. Pattern could easily be applied to both situations, and it it something I've been increasingly interested in over the past few briefs. To start with, I drew up a number of items that were associated with a range of recipes that I had chosen. These were done using pencil on watercolour paper, so that they could be painted and lined with black pen once dry.
