Questions asked
1. Should booklet three be scrapped? Would you personally find it useful as a separate book or could the info be fit in elsewhere?
2. Would it be best to make all images/photographs used greyscale so there is no contrast with the colour scheme? Or will this not really make a difference?
3. Can you suggest a possible sans serif typeface to be used with "The Print Manual" typeface?
4. Is the information included relevant and suitable for the audience? Is it all useful to you as a designer?
5. Would you rather see more illustration/images than a lot of text? Would you rather the illustrations were hand drawn or vector?
Feedback 1
Strengths
- All content is relevant and useful, info in book one and two more relevant than book three
Considerations
- We think the quantity of info in the first two books wold be sufficient, only include booklet three if you think it would be useful for yourself
- Greyscale could work, we think that duo-tone would look good or perhaps images with the same colour hue over all of them
- Have a good balance between image and text - avoid large blocks of text
Feedback 2
Strengths
- Greyscale would be cheaper and maybe suitable
- Yes, all content is broken down into relevant categories, and each section contains all info needed
Areas for improvement
- Consensus of the group is to either scrap it or merge it by including the information within the other areas
Considerations
- Try a basic font at first then experiment with others when all of the text is in the layout to see which works best overall? there are easy ways of changing all of the text in a document in InDesign
- Vector over hand drawn images. These are more effective for diagrams. Photography could help illustrate some points e.g. foiling etc
