ISTD - progress crit

Feedback one

Strengths
- good research into editorial designs
- clear target audience
- good breakdown of categories within the chosen subject

Areas for improvement
- what info/10 things we need to know about fashion are you going to include in the publication?
- what's the purpose?
- what format will it take - no indication of the deliverable other than lookbook

Considerations
- Visuelle lookbook has good aesthetics and has content, the typography looks good - consider this as it is a typography brief
- are you going to take your own photos or images pulled from the internet? (think about quality when printing)
- what is the web-based outcome?

Feedback two

Strengths
- well designed boards!
- like the idea of 10 lookbooks
- good publication research - we can see the direction you are wanting to take
- target audience narrowed down well - specific
- good lookbook research

Areas for improvement
- not enough information/content to build an idea of the content
- 'The Bloggers' does this include people who are going to appear in the '10 things'?

Considerations
- think about distribution methods - how will your target audience access these?
- where will they find them?
- what style are you going for - mod/post-mod?
- could be a lot of work for yourself, consider making topic more focused, could you look at a smaller number of bloggers and make it more in depth?
- photography/illustration?
- consider whether you are taking your own photos? if not then try to make the publications stand out as much as possible in terms of layout/finishing techniques

Action plan

1. Pick ten bloggers appropriate to the audience or re-consider focus - is ten too much? Should it be ten things about an individual rather than ten separate bloggers?
2. Consider web based product - something similar to bloglovin?
3. Consideration of images and illustration
4. Sub categories within categories

From my feedback, I can tell that people have either got a little bit confused as to what my plan is. Everyone seems to just think that the brief is based loosely around fashion, and they are unsure as to what the actual content is going to be. The main content is going to circled around the idea of the fashion blogger, either choosing ten particular bloggers to cover the interests of my target audience, or picking a select few/an individual, and displaying each them using a lookbook format. Within each lookbook will be a number of features including what you would usually find on a fashion bloggers website, for example:
- favourite/current designers
- must haves for particular seasons/events
- what i'm wearing today
- wish lists
- inspiration - music, art, exhibitions, events
- moodboards
After considering what my web-based product could be, I am thinking of going down the route of a website similar to bloglovin. Bloglovin helps you follow the blogs you read by letting you know when the update. It also breaks blogs up into categories and country.
