EXHIBITION - feedback

Overall, I was scored an average of just over 13. I was extremely happy with this result, as generally my scores were all pretty high. Despite this, I felt that this process wasn't exactly a positive one. I did not receive a score from everyone, and I felt that it was all a bit all over the place. People took a matter of about 10 seconds to make up their mind, and simply wrote a number based on first impressions. I feel that I would have preferred more time receiving feedback from a select few individuals, as this would have been more beneficial.

Feedback received at the end of the workshop:

- works extremely well
- looks like it has been screen printed, really interesting finish
- evidently took time and effort
- nice choice of stock
- like the hand drawn visual
- concept is strong
- connotations with luck and winning
- like hand drawn type and gradients of colour

WHAT IS GOOD - board feedback

- Clean and simple layout
- Align your images to a set grid e.g. 2x2 (x3)
- On product format one image is out
- Range of products is a nice board - good use of key words and layout
- Format - pattern to product is effective
- List of key words works well

- Easy to understand
- Good layout
- Images picked are relevant to choice of topic
- The text on the boards is just enough to keep audience interested
- Overall great research

- Layout clear and easy to take information in
- Stats could be made a little larger and clearer, but it's good to see quick facts
- Your visual research is relevant and visually appealing to me
- Just a title explaining what products you want to design from your good would help me understand what you want to achieve
- Is it food packaging? Food related products etc?

CONCEPT PITCH - feedback

Concept pitch feedback

How would you grade the pitch on the following areas:

5 = excellent, 4 = very good, 3 = good, 2 = average, 1 = poor

Feedback 1

Clarity of concept - 3
Breadth of ideas - 3
Appropriateness of response - 4
Contextual awareness - 5
Analysis/understanding of audience - 5
Level of innovation/originality - 3
Quality/clarity of presentation - 4

Areas for improvement
Maybe more visual sheets for concept, along with designs that have inspired you. Present the concept in a more basic manner.

Additional comments
Very relevant research. Definitely understand the audience and context well. Maybe somehow make the concept more innovative, something that's never been done for hair product packaging.

Feedback 2

Clarity of concept - 3
Breadth of ideas - 3
Appropriateness of response - 4
Contextual awareness - 4
Analysis/understanding of audience - 4
Level of innovation/originality - 3
Quality/clarity of presentation - 3

Areas for improvement
Make some mock ups of your own ideas. Will there be any other branding? Posters/ads or just packaging? Could there be any new ideas like mail outs or something? An event maybe?

Action plan

1. Cant change packaging, so consider how point of sale could become and innovative factor
2. Consider packaging the bottle - is this unnecessary?
3. Write language for existing bottles
4. Choose fragrances? Limited edition scents? Look at Hershesons collaboration with Batiste
5. Pin down target audience and how this will affect the aesthetics
6. Start developing pattern
