Using live trace to create stencils and symbols.
Promoting the idea of secrecy, making you wonder what could be inside whilst not being too obvious about the whole thing.
Silhouette of a cat could, without prior knowledge of what is inside, stand for anything.
Allows for the opportunity to further incorporate ideas from part 1 of the brief, proverbally yours.
The images of the hairless cats are a perfect way to go about creating an image for the envelope.
Must be black and white as only two colours must be used...don't want to use anymore photography within the mailshot therefore a silhouette/stencil of the cat itself is the best way forward.
This appears to be just the right amount of visible colour. Anymore black and the eyes begin to disappear and these are a main focal point. Any less and it seems to become a bit distant. Whilst it is meant to display this idea of 'secrecy', the image must be visible, the recipient must know what it is.
Looking at using a different image of the two cats used in the previous brief proverbally yours. Unfortunately, one cat comes out much better than the other. The one on the right kind of becomes a bit questionable as to what it is. It kind of looks a bit like a boston terrier, or just a weird dog.
One strong stand alone cat seems to be the best route to go down for the front of the envelope at this point in time.
Different variations of the trace.
Also looked at the possibility of cropping the image to just use the cat's eyes. They're seen as a bit of a gateway into the soul, representing wealth and gambling supposedly. The symbol is usually worn for financial speculation. This is a possibility, however the eyes need to be a lot more prominent, a lot more "catty".
